New Year Resolutions
I have finally sat down and written out my NY Resolutions.
It took me a little longer as I wanted to make them more achievable and also quantifiable.
1. Wear makeup more often as it brings me joy.
This I will measure through the monthly habit tracker pages in my bullet journal. I very rarely wear makeup during the week but it makes such a difference with how I feel...it's called War Paint for a reason I suppose.
2. I want work towards losing 2 lbs per week so that I can reach my goal weight by Christmas 2017.
As I type I am actually 1 lb behind schedule, but I feel actually setting myself a long term goal with weekly "checking in" goals could be a way to make this work. I will also be able to estimate through the year if I am target.
3. Read more.
I have written out a reading list for the year, starting with finishing the Kay Scarpetta series that I am halfway through by Patricia Cornwell. I have collected quite a few of the rest of the series from charity shops, but sadly since I went from getting the train to work to driving my reading speed has slowed down dramatically.
4. Learn something new or develop on a skill I have already
I have a voucher for a beginner Calligraphy class with a company called Quill London. I cannot wait! Being a lefty all the books and most of the equipment is geared toward righties which is a proper pain. Hopefully they can teach me and my lefty hand how to write pretty.
If all goes well I want to plan to spend time practicing the new skill.
5. Exercise more.
I think this has featured on my NY Resolutions lists in the past few years.
I want to eventually build up to 4 times a week which will become easier the lighter I become. Throughout February and March my aim is for two visits a week (if I go a third time it is a bonus). Then throughout April and May my aim is for three visits...you get the jist. I want to make a slow adaption to building up so that I don't injure myself and ruin the year.
