New Makeup (yaaay)

I was starting to get fed up with my makeup routine, It felt like the texture of my face had changed and the makeup wasn’t sitting as well as it once had.

I was using Bare Minerals loose powder foundation, which I have used for a number of years.  I found that it was clinging to all the little peach fuzz on my face so in the light and close up photos I looked fluffy!
I got to the point that I felt really fed up, so off I took myself to the Urban Decay counter at my local John Lewis for a colour match.
The staff were able to squeeze me in and they were brilliant, giving an explanation of the benefits of the liquid Naked Skin foundation.  It gives medium coverage, however is really buildable for full coverage, which is a great bonus.
It smells lovely and feels cool when applied to the skin and is very weightless.
As well as getting foundation I purchased the matching Naked Skin concealer, which I wasn’t really that educated about using, but since being shown how to use it on my own face by the Urban Decay lovelies I am all set to go!

All excited with my new makeup I tottled off to Boots and bought new face brushes to work with my new foundation.  I purchased the concealer brush, the expert face brush, and the sculpting brush by Real Techniques.
I am in love with these brushes, I have used items from the brand for a while now and they are amazingly soft with no hair loss.  They do a great job when I apply my makeup and they also clean up really nicely as well.

Highlighter!!
Now this was a totally new thing to me as well, since becoming more aware of beauty bloggers who are verging on makeup artistry I fancied a highlighter myself.
The one I really wanted was the Becca Champagne Pop as it looks so wonderful, but, I wasn’t really ready to put that kind of money into buying a highlighter when I wasn’t even sure I was “ready” for highlighting haha.
Compromise happened, and I purchased the Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin, now this was so hard to source nowhere had it in store, so I had to purchase it online.  Glad I did, the buttery texture of he product is lovely, it sits really well on my skin.
I am a highlighting convert.  Hurrah!
Whilst in the shopping centre I picked up some chocolates from Hotel Chocolat for a friend’s birthday.  I bought myself some too - very naughty yes, I can assure you that after the photo I put them back in the packaging and then rationed myself.

Hope you’re having a lovely week
